About Elizabeth

Hi, I’m Elizabeth - an aspiring stage manager and creative collaborator based in Kansas City, Missouri with a passion for the behind-the-scenes work that makes live performance possible.

After a recent trip to New York City reinvigorated my passion for theatre, I knew it was time to find my way back to the industry after nearly ten years away and pursue my long term goal of becoming a stage manager. I’m actively pursuing this goal through continued education and hands-on production experience.

My professional background in human resources, customer service, and copy writing has given me a strong foundation in organization, documentation, communication, and follow-through. I’m used to managing and translating detailed information, balancing competing priorities, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and keeping work moving in environments where accuracy and timing are crucial. Through other leadership roles and volunteer opportunities I have gained even more experience with remaining calm and professional in high‑pressure situations, supporting others’ needs, and adapting quickly when plans change.

I bring a practical and detail-oriented approach to my work. I like structure, clear communication, and thoughtful preparation, but I also understand that live theatre requires flexibility and adaptability. I’m able to pivot quickly when priorities change without losing sight of the tasks that still remain. I’m comfortable asking questions, taking responsibility for decisions, and helping out wherever needed. I can identify the limits of my skills and know when I need to ask for help or delegate tasks. I try not to over-complicate and gravitate toward straight-forward, efficient processes.

I also enjoy hands-on work and have experience with sewing, set construction, and prop creation. I love trying new things and have the kind of resourceful problem-solving and innovative creativity that comes from possessing the “I could make that” mentality.

As I continue working toward a long-term career in theatre, I’m grateful for every opportunity to grow my skills, connect with other theatre professionals, and contribute to the collaborative work that makes live performance so special.

fun facts

During my final semester of college I adopted a cat that promptly had four kittens. I raised the kittens until they were 12 weeks old, found homes for three of them and ended up keeping the runt of the litter. When I met my husband a few years later, his dog made us a family of five then we adopted another kitten together to complete our bunch of buddies.

You’ll never catch me without:

A bottle of water and a fun drink (right now I’m really enjoying Canadian Lattes), a watch, a notebook and something to write with, and Fisherman’s Friend lozenges.

I love trying new things and gaining new skills. I can hula hoop for five minutes straight, I recently learned how to play American Mahjong, and I enjoy making sauces, salsas, and spreads out of the fruit, vegetables, and herbs from my garden.
